JETSTAR ENGINEERING AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE
HANGAR 141 TOUR
Hangar 141 is part of the Jetstar Engineering Aircraft Maintenance Organisation (AMO), which carries out maintenance services for the entire Jetstar Airways Australia/New Zealand fleet. The facility at Tullamarine Airport provides light maintenance services for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, Airbus A320 and Airbus A321 fleets. Operating on 24/7 basis, our crews work around the clock to complete general servicing, system testing, component replacements, modifications, repairs and fault investigation/rectification. A typical maintenance event at Hangar 141 can take anywhere between 6 hours to one week, and at times there will be multiple aircraft in the Hangar for concurrent maintenance.
Currently, Hangar 141 is running the following scheduled maintenance programs:
•Boeing 787 A-checks
•A320/A321 Overnight A-checks
•Boeing 787 GEnx engine Transfer Gearbox upgrades
•Boeing 787 GEnx engine Fan Tip Clearance rework
•Boeing 787 Service bulletin production enhancements
•A320/A321 V2500 engine enhancement program
•Unscheduled repairs and defect rectification as required
As part of the visit to the facility, guests can expect to get an insight into the operational aspects of aircraft maintenance engineering. They will meet with Aircraft Maintenance Engineers, Aircraft Maintenance Planners, Logistics and other support and management staff. A tour of the facility and an aircraft will be provided (subject to aircraft availability and maintenance requirements on the day). Guests will also have a chance to ask any questions about the operation and the aviation industry in general.
This visit will be of particular interest for engineers considering a transition to the aerospace industry as part of the SAE-A’s Industry Programs Working Group (IPWG) initiative with the Victorian Government Department of Education & Training.
