Membership Grades

 

The SAE-A offers graded membership, where new applicants will be assigned a grade based on skills, qualifications and experience.

Grade

Qualification

Fellow (F SAE-A)

Members who have experience in leading major engineering developments or activities, or have had an extensive career in positions of responsibility in engineering

Member (M SAE-A)

Professionals in the mobility industry who have been practicing for a minimum of 5 years (qualification dependent)

Associate Member (AM SAE-A)

New engineers or technicians holding an engineering, science or mechanical degree or diploma

Associate Member -T (AM-T SAE-A)

Trade and technically qualified professionals with TAFE or equivalent certificate

Affiliate (AFF SAE-A)
Ungraded Membership

Persons engaged or interested in mobility engineering who do not wish to be graded.  Affiliates are unable to vote, be involved in standards development or nominate for Chair or Treasurer roles within the Society.

Student (S SAE-A)

Applicants who are engaged in full time courses of study including apprenticeships.  Required for students wishing to compete in Formula SAE-A.
