This year, for the first time, the Formula SAE-A competition will be held at Winton Motor Raceway in Winton. Winton is a town near Benalla, Victoria, Australia.
Winton is located just a little over 2 hrs from Melbourne by car, travelling via the National Highway M31 and Goulburn Valley Fwy/M39.
If you prefer the train option, V-Line operates a train from Southern Cross Station, Melbourne to Benalla 4 times a day Mon-Fri and 3 times a day on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets will cost you around $13.50 concession up to $35.40 for first class travel and the journey will take approximately 2 h 40 min – Tel 1800 800 007 or https://www.vline.com.au/ for more information or to book a fare.
To secure a camp site, participants must register and pay online (www.wintonraceway.com.au/camping/) at least two weeks prior to the event. Access to the camping area will be restricted to participants with the appropriate wristband. This will be issued to eligible participants by Winton Motor Raceway security. For further information, please contact Winton Motor Raceway (+61 3 5760 7100 or email@example.com).
CAMPING EQUIPMENT: Camping equipment should be hired or purchased by teams. The organisers recommend that teams purchase/hire their equipment in Melbourne prior to arriving at Winton Motor Raceway. If teams plan ahead, it is often less expensive to purchase equipment through discount online retailers than to hire it. Equipment can be shipped to a host university within Australia, or directly to Winton Motor Raceway. Please notify the organisers (firstname.lastname@example.org) at least one week in advance if you intend to have equipment shipped directly to the venue.
