Do you have a requirement for training but not sure where to start looking to find the right provider for your organisation or individual needs?

We can help connect you with local facilitators who are credentialed in your specific area of need. To discuss your specific requirements, please email events@sae-a.com.au

If you are a qualified training facilitator interested in partnership with the Society of Automotive Engineers Australasia, please register your expression of interest here.

We are currently seeing an experienced trainer on the topic of fasteners, specifically around:

  • Slip critical connections
  • Predicting bolt slip
  • Torque relaxation
  • Specifying a torque
  • Torque and clamp load relationships
  • K factors, how to determine them, and factors that affect them
  • Bolt and nut coating, surface finish, washer type/hardness/ hole size etc
  • Uncertainties, and safety factors
  • Bolt yield, UTS, Proof
  • Common failure modes of bolted joints and how to design against them, eg over-torqueing, bolt relaxation, bending fatigue, shear failure, fretting fatigue, axial overload, axial fatigue etc
  • Potential results of bolted joint failure.
